Probert Street, Camperdown.
A cramped two bedroom inner city terrace had small living areas opening out onto a small raised deck.
The deck being quite high off the ground was not very child friendly, and could only be used with a small table and chairs. The rear of the terrace faced south which meant that the living areas felt even smaller and darker.
The renovation simply inserted a level change adjacent to the existing kitchen, providing a split level living space, with a the new living room extending all the way to the neighbouring boundary, but retaining the original ceiling height.
Full width timber bifold doors opened out onto the newly paved courtyard.
Tall louvered windows placed where the terrace breezeway (or side alleyway) used to be captured northern light, and provided cross ventilation to the living room.
