Previously a large caravan site an hour north of Brisbane at Redcliffe, the Centaurus development housed 174 new units with 5 undercroft carparks and a communal swimming pool and gym on a site approximately 20,000m2.
The development was aimed at a budget market, which meant early and extensive designing with the client and his builders – to ascertain ways of minimising construction costs – including prefabricated concrete panels for floors and walls, lightweight plywood infill panels designed to standard sheet sizes as well as tilt up construction techniques that aimed to reduce on site wastage and greatly reduce construction time.
