Buckingham Street, Surry Hills.
21 units with underground carparking were cleverly inserted behind the heritage brick façade of a church in the city. Ground floor units retained the original window openings and had grand tall ceiling heights, while the units above were orientated to pick up views of the adjacent park.
Extensive on site resolution and ‘knitting’ together of the old and the new elements of the building, produced an outcome that was sensitive to the original church building, while providing maximum site potential.
